PrimePort Timaru is the central multi-purpose and bulk handling port on the east coast of the South Island in New Zealand. It provides a wide range of facilities for the safe and efficient transfer of commodities between the land and water transport systems. These include bulk storage and handling facilities for grains, container operations including 3 modern mobile harbour cranes, transit shed, reefer power and a container washing facility, full range of mechanical cargo handling equipment, stevedoring services, warehousing and distribution facilities and a fishing boat harbour and ancillary facilities for servicing large scale fishing ventures. The port operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day and vessels up to 228m in length and 10m draft can be accommodated.
