Gas Services NZ (GSNZ) is the downstream energy retail and distribution arm within the Clarus group. It owns and operates New Zealand's largest LPG retail business through the Rockgas brand, along with the Flexgas underground gas storage facility. GSNZ was the acquisition vehicle that purchased Rockgas from Contact Energy for $260m in 2018, and it sits alongside (rather than above) the Firstgas pipeline transmission business within the wider Clarus group structure. Its operations include: - LPG retail supply nationwide via Rockgas (NZ's largest), through a network of 180+ branches, franchises and Refill & Save locations - Reticulated LPG networks piped directly to properties in parts of Canterbury, Queenstown and Wanaka - Underground gas storage via Flexgas at the Ahuroa facility in Taranaki, supporting peak electricity demand
